Employment & Industrial Relations

Ranked in the 2026 versions of Chambers Asia-Pacific and Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific, PDLegal’s Employment & Industrial Relations practice offers both contentious and advisory services.

Experienced Labour Law Team for Corporates and C-Suites

Recognised in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2026 in Employment: Domestic (Singapore), our Employment & Industrial Relations team acts for corporates and C-suite executives, offering end-to-end advisory on the full spectrum of employment law matters in Singapore.

Offering both contentious and advisory services, Chambers Asia-Pacific notes PDLegal for providing “practical, cost-effective and mutually beneficial solutions for all stakeholders” and “Their thorough legal analysis, responsiveness and professionalism set them apart, especially when facing a high-profile opposition.”

For corporate clients, we assist with drafting employment policies, employee compensation and benefits such as Employee Stock Option (ESOS) and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and management of restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and redundancy situations. Our team also advises on data privacy and general corporate governance matters.

For C-suite clients, we represent them in employment disputes such as wrongful dismissal and termination. We also support them in non-contentious matters including negotiating contracts and advising on rights and obligations relating to restrictive covenants such as non-competition, non-solicitation and restraint of trade clauses.

Recent representative experience includes:

  • Acted as lead counsel for a multinational retail company, which had commenced a Singapore High Court action against an ex-employee and a co-conspirator for fraud and embezzlement of the company’s funds in the sum of S$15 million.
  • Advised a leading multinational quick-service restaurant franchisor on Singapore employment law matters arising from the upstream corporate sale of a global restaurant brand.
  • Acted for notable local SMEs, including a food and beverage chain and an aesthetics and wellness chain, in connection with investigations conducted by the Ministry of Manpower.
  • Acted for one of the largest logistics and petrochemical service providers in Southeast Asia in connection with a conspiracy claim against several employees of a subsidiary.
  • Assisted with an internal investigation concerning an employee of a client, a foreign exchange trader alleged to have carried out several “wash trades”.
  • Advised a company on its existing PDPA policies and the implementation of appropriate protective measures to safeguard its core interests during and following employees’ employment and vendors’ engagements.
  • Advised a former senior executive of a major e-commerce company in securing a settlement in connection with a wrongful dismissal dispute.
  • Advised a major dry bulk shipping operator on the negotiated termination of a former employee for misconduct.
  • Advised and assisted a former C-suite executive of the Singapore office of a major global payment services company in securing a settlement in connection with wrongful dismissal claims against the former employer.
  • Advised directors of a commodity trading company owned by a German conglomerate on sensitive employment-related matters, including allegations of unfair treatment during an internal investigation and the payment of performance bonuses.
